A Canvas Bag Designed Around a Drawstring Closure
A drawstring canvas bag offers a different carrying experience from a conventional canvas tote. Instead of stitched tote handles and an open top, the bag uses cords to open and close. Once tightened, these cords can also function as simple shoulder straps, making the bag convenient when attendees, students or staff need to keep their hands free.
This construction makes the style especially useful for branded event bags. You can place items inside before an event, pull the top closed, and hand the complete pack directly to participants. Explore the broader custom bag printing range if your project requires different bag constructions or materials.
When Should You Choose Canvas?
Canvas suits projects where the bag's look and reusability matter as much as the initial giveaway. Its fabric surface gives the drawstring bag a more natural, merchandise-oriented character than many lightweight promotional materials.
This makes the style relevant for company merchandise, employee welcome packs, school programs, exhibitions, conferences and branded lifestyle items. For campaigns where the main priority is a lightweight, budget-focused tote rather than a canvas look, non-woven tote bags offer another option worth comparing.
The choice should therefore be based on how recipients will use the bag after distribution, rather than simply choosing one material for every campaign.
Custom Logo and Artwork Options
The RafflesTag drawstring bag range supports Plain, 1 Color Logo, 2 Color Logo and Full Color Logo options. This lets the artwork match the visual complexity of the brand or campaign.
A simple company mark or event title may work well as a one- or two-color design. Detailed promotional graphics, colorful illustrations or artwork containing several brand colors can instead use the Full Color Logo option. The canvas drawstring bag can also carry a company name, slogan, school identity, event artwork or other promotional graphic.
One-side and two-side printing are available. A one-side layout keeps the branding focused on the main viewing area. Two-side printing creates additional space when the project needs a second message, sponsor information or supporting artwork.
Drawstring Canvas Bag vs Canvas Tote Bag
The main difference isn't just the material, since both styles use canvas. The important buying decision is the bag construction.
A standard canvas tote uses handles and normally has an open top, making it convenient for shopping, documents, merchandise and general everyday carrying. A drawstring canvas bag uses cords to close the opening and can be carried over the shoulders in a simple backpack-style arrangement.
Buyers planning retail merchandise or reusable shopping bags may therefore prefer a conventional canvas tote. For participant packs, school activities, staff kits or merchandise where a closable opening is useful, the drawstring style can be more appropriate.
Canvas vs Other Drawstring Bag Materials
Canvas is only one option within the drawstring category. RafflesTag Malaysia also offers nylon, non-woven, reflective, and 420D polyester drawstring styles. Each material creates a different look and suits different project priorities.
Canvas works especially well when buyers want a natural fabric appearance and a reusable merchandise-style bag. Other drawstring materials may be considered when the priority shifts toward lighter construction, sports activities or a particular functional requirement. Comparing the intended use before selecting the material helps prevent paying for features the campaign does not require.
Uses for Events, Schools and Company Merchandise
Drawstring canvas bags can be prepared as individual event packs containing promotional items, printed materials or merchandise. At conferences and exhibitions, they can give visitors a convenient way to carry distributed items. Schools and organizations can use them for programs, activities or branded merchandise, while businesses can include them in employee kits and promotional campaigns.
For gift-oriented projects, the bag can also form part of a wider selection of custom corporate gifts, allowing the outer bag and the items inside it to follow the same branding direction.
Preparing Artwork for Your Canvas Bag
Before ordering, decide what information genuinely needs to appear on the bag. A clean logo with sufficient surrounding space often produces a clearer branded result than filling the available surface with text.
Consider the number of artwork colors and whether you need one-side or two-side printing. If several sponsor logos or event details must appear, separating the primary branding from secondary information can create a more organized layout.
Review your final artwork against the chosen bag and printing configuration before production begins.
Planning Your Order Timeline
Custom drawstring bags generally require around 15 business days after artwork approval, according to the current RafflesTag Malaysia product information. Rush production is available in around 10 business days for tighter schedules.
For an event with a fixed date, complete artwork preparation and approval early enough to allow time for production and delivery. If you are sourcing other packaging at the same time, you can also compare the custom paper bag range for retail products, gift presentation and other applications where a handled paper bag is more suitable.
Frequently Asked Questions:
A drawstring canvas bag is a reusable canvas fabric bag with cords that pull the opening closed. The cords also double as simple shoulder straps, letting you carry the bag in a backpack-style position.
Yes. RafflesTag Malaysia offers Plain, 1 Color Logo, 2 Color Logo, and Full Color Logo options for drawstring bags, allowing company logos, event artwork, slogans, school designs and promotional graphics to be added.
Yes. One-side and two-side printing options are available. Two-side printing can be useful when you need a main company logo on one side and additional artwork, sponsors or event information on the other.
Yes. The canvas construction makes this style suitable for repeated carrying, not just one-time event distribution. Recipients can reuse it for personal items, merchandise, school activities, event materials, and other everyday essentials.
A canvas tote normally uses stitched handles and has an open top. A drawstring canvas bag uses cords to close the opening, and those cords can also be worn over the shoulders like simple backpack straps.
The bag is suitable for event materials, merchandise, staff kit items, school materials and everyday essentials. Contents depend on the bag's dimensions and weight, so confirm what you plan to put inside before finalizing the configuration.
