A Slimmer Approach to Corporate Lanyards
Standard flat lanyards provide a large surface for logos, text, and colorful artwork. A polyester cord lanyard takes a different approach. Its narrow, round profile keeps the neck strap visually simple, while the metal tag becomes the main branding detail.
This makes the style particularly relevant when a company wants identification accessories that complement uniforms or business attire without displaying large repeated logos around the neck. The combination of textile cord and metal also gives buyers a noticeably different design choice from conventional polyester ribbon lanyards.
If a larger printed branding area is the priority, the main custom lanyard collection includes alternative styles designed for different artwork and identification requirements.
Polyester Cord with a Metal Branding Detail
The main strap is made from polyester and uses a round cord construction rather than the flat webbing found on many standard lanyards. At approximately 6mm wide and 900mm long, the cord keeps the overall design narrow and straightforward.
The defining feature is the metal tag. Rather than relying on the cord itself as the main logo area, the tag provides a separate surface for custom branding. This combination works especially well with simple company marks, initials, names, or other artwork that can be reproduced clearly through engraving.
Laser-Engraved Logo on the Metal Tag
Branding on this lanyard focuses on the metal component. Laser engraving applies the logo or artwork directly to the tag instead of printing it on the polyester cord.
Because the branding area is relatively compact, simple artwork is usually the strongest choice. Clean logos, simple symbols, and readable text suit a small metal tag better than artwork with many tiny elements. When preparing an order, provide clear vector artwork where possible so we can assess the logo's suitability for engraving.
This branding method also clearly distinguishes itself from full-color or one-color printed lanyards, where the strap itself carries the visual identity.
Custom Cord Colors for Brand Coordination
The polyester cord can be customized in different colors, allowing the strap to coordinate with company branding, uniforms, event themes or identification systems. A corporate team may use one consistent brand color, while an event organizer can select colors that work with the overall event identity.
Color choice can also support practical organization. For example, separate cord colors may be considered for different groups when planning staff, organizer or attendee identification. Provide exact color requirements when requesting a quotation so the available production options can be checked against the intended design.
Designed for Staff and Corporate Identification
This style is particularly suited to situations where the lanyard will be seen as part of a complete staff or visitor identification setup. Offices can use it for employee credentials, while conference and event teams can pair it with appropriate passes or badges.
For a complete ID setup, RafflesTag Malaysia also supplies custom PVC cards for employee IDs, membership cards, visitor passes, and event credentials. Buyers who prefer to protect or display the card inside a separate accessory can select from the available ID card holder options.
Polyester Cord vs Flat Printed Lanyard
The main buying decision is how visible you want the branding to be. Flat printed lanyards provide substantially more printable surface area and are useful when the design includes repeated logos, event names, patterns or other artwork that should remain prominent around the neck.
A polyester cord lanyard with a metal tag suits a more restrained visual treatment. The cord remains the dominant structural element, while the logo appears on the smaller metal detail. This makes the style worth considering for corporate environments where the lanyard should coordinate with an ID system without becoming the largest branding element.
Neither construction replaces the other; each addresses different presentation needs. Buyers should choose according to artwork complexity, desired logo visibility, and the overall appearance of the finished staff or event pass.
Pair the Lanyard with the Right ID Accessory
Consider the complete identification system rather than choosing the neck strap alone. A standard PVC staff card may need a different attachment setup from a larger conference credential or visitor pass.
RafflesTag Malaysia's broader Lanyard & Card range covers related identification products for offices, events and organizations. For access cards that need to extend to a scanner or reader while remaining attached, a pull reel can also be considered as part of the setup.
Artwork and Ordering Considerations
Before production, decide what information actually needs to appear on the metal tag. A compact logo generally suits the available space better than long text or highly detailed artwork. Keep fine details to a minimum and make sure important elements remain recognizable when reduced to the physical tag size.
When requesting a quotation, provide the required quantity, logo artwork, preferred cord color, intended use, and delivery deadline. If the lanyard needs to connect to a particular card, badge, or holder, include that requirement as well. These details allow us to assess the final configuration and production requirements before artwork approval.
For Malaysian companies, organizations, and event teams looking for a slim custom lanyard with a distinct metal branding element, polyester cord construction offers an alternative to the familiar wide printed strap.
Frequently Asked Questions:
It is a lanyard made with a slim round polyester cord rather than a wide flat strap. A separate metal tag provides the main area for adding a custom logo or simple brand artwork.
The cord is approximately 6mm wide and 900mm long. Its narrow round construction creates a noticeably slimmer appearance than conventional flat polyester lanyards used for printed logos and event branding.
The metal tag is designed for laser engraving. This method suits logos, initials, company names, and simple artwork that stays clear when reproduced within the relatively small branding area.
Yes. The polyester cord is available in customizable colors. Share your preferred brand or event color when requesting a quotation so we can check the appropriate option for your order.
Yes. Its slim profile makes it suitable for staff identification and corporate environments. It can be combined with an appropriate ID card or card holder, depending on the type of credential employees need to carry.
The metal tag uses laser engraving rather than standard printing. The engraving adds custom branding detail to the metal component while letting the polyester cord maintain a simple, clean appearance.
Simple logos, symbols, initials, and short text generally work best. Very fine lines or complicated artwork may lose clarity when reduced, so we recommend supplying clean vector artwork for review before production.
A standard flat lanyard provides a larger area for repeated printed logos and colorful artwork. This style uses a narrow round cord and concentrates the branding on a smaller metal tag for a more understated appearance.
